Originally from Sydney, Adrienne began her painting career there before going on to study in Italy. Later she studied at the Central School of Art and Design in London, where she has lived and worked ever since.
Until four years ago, she mainly sold her paintings privately and worked on commissions. However since 2003 she has exhibited regularly at the Fountain Gallery in East Molesey, and at the Landmark Trust Art Fair, as well as participating in numerous exhibitions and group shows, including the Llewellyn Davis Gallery, the Penny School Gallery, the Stable Gallery and the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music.
Adrienne's work moves between stylised oil paintings and abstracts. She feels very comfortable with this, and finds both approaches equally rewarding. The element which links these different forms of expression is strong colour and contrast. "I believe the 'hard-edge' design features in my work are the influence of the Australian light that so dominated my childhood. Everything is vivid and clearly defined there, even - maybe especially - the shadows."
At the end of 2006 she visited Australia, and this led to her producing work for an exhibition in October 2007 at the Fountain Gallery. It was a journey that she found both visually and emotionally stimulating. Some of the works she produced for this exhibition can be seen on the Gallery pages. Her works are in private collections in the UK, USA, Spain, Australia and India.
